Enrolment Procedure

Step 1
Fill out an Application Form

Download the Application Form or pick a copy up from our administration office. Complete the form by filling in the relevant details.

Step 2
Submit the documents

Once the application has been filled out, submit it to the office along with your child's birth certificate, immunisation records, previous school reports and NAPLAN results

Step 3
Pay the
application fee

Western Grammar School charges a non-refundable $50 enrolment fee that must be paid when the application form is submitted.

Step 4
Take the
entrance exams

If positions are available, WGS will conduct an entrance examination. In some instances, the student and parents may be called in for an interview to further assess the application.

Step 5
Sign the acceptance letter

If your child fulfils all the criteria, WGS will send you an acceptance letter. Once this has been signed and the required fees are paid in full, your child will officially be enrolled at Western Grammar School

Acceptance Criteria & Information

Our school evaluates every application based on a set of criteria, which are primarily based on the results of the entrance exams and the previous school reports. Additionally, students who have siblings enrolled in the school will be given preference if they fulfil the base requirements.

Applications for the next school year will have their exams taken in the fourth term of the current year. Mid-year applications will be tested after the application has been completed.

If the application is successful, Western Grammar School sends out an Offer of Acceptance letter to the parents/guardians. To accept this offer, parents must sign the form and return it within the time specified. Failure to do so will classify as rejecting the offer. Alongside this, a down payment of the first term’s fee and the building fee is also necessary to secure the child’s position.

If the application is not successful or there are no positions available, parents will either be sent a letter of declination or the student will be placed on the waiting list. If positions become available later on, students on the waiting list will be called in to sit for the entrance exams.
