About Us
History of Western Grammar School
With improved resources and premises, an ever-increasing student body and a dedicated team of passionate teachers, WGS is committed to fulfilling its promise of providing the best education in an enriching environment.
Western Grammar started from humble beginnings but has seen rapid development over a brief period of time, and the future only holds the possibility of greater achievements that will benefit Australia’s diverse community. We stand committed in our endeavour to provide an individualised academic focus and opportunities for creative expression for our students at all levels of development.
Western Grammar School was opened in 2012 with the aim of providing the community with a safe learning environment that focused on character and quality education. In its first year running, WGS catered to barely a dozen students from Kindergarten to Year 4 and had only two single-story buildings to teach them in.
Over the past eight years, our school has grown and we host students with classes going up to Year 12.
In early 2016, WGS formally opened a new purpose-built double storey building providing new toilets and classrooms for students and a school hall. In 2020 the second purpose-built double storey building was opened. This building provided additional classrooms, a new library, a new science lab and offices for staff.
Achieving success at any level requires effort, determination, and planning, but oftentimes we forget the most important aspect of aiming for success: ensuring that the goal we strive for is worthwhile.

Environment at Western Grammar School
At Western Grammar School, we understand that a positive environment has a significant impact on a student’s ability to learn and grow.
Recognising that we are a nation of diverse people, Western Grammar cherishes the multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-faith nature of our society. We encourage our students to cultivate a universalist outlook on life and to constantly seek to broaden their horizons in tolerance, compassion and cooperation with one another.
We seek to prevent discrimination on the grounds of gender, race and religion in all areas of our school. Our school environment is based upon well-guided Islamic teachings and ideologies with the aim of educating students to display positive moral and ethical behaviour in their personal lives as well as in school.
